Large-scale solar systems

AquaSystem for systems with collector surface areas from 30 m²

Effective immediately, Paradigma is opening up its AquaSystem to solar energy systems of any size. This system, in which pure water is used as a heat transfer medium in the collectors, has already been tried and tested successfully on approximately 20,000 small systems. With this expansion in mind, Paradigma established the SGA expert project group at the end of 2006.

The Paradigma SGA project group

The SGA project group offers special terms for pilot projects. It collaborates with the Paradigma System Partners, as well as with all planners of large-scale projects and companies who want to generate their process heat via solar energy. The Paradigma SGA team takes on the majority of the responsibility, including for planning the complete collector wiring, all pipe diameters, the thermal insulation, the selection of the solar pump, the expansion tank and the controller. Buffer storage tanks are the planning interface for process heat systems or solar cooling systems. The team also plans the hot water storage tank required for water heating and heating connection systems.

Aqua System technology

The key advantages of the Aqua Solar technology systems for large-scale solar energy systems can be summarised as follows: an Aqua System operates like an additional boiler with a freely selectable temperature and guarantees frost protection, largely using otherwise useless low-temperature heat. No solar heat exchangers and frost protection agents are required, which significantly reduces costs and increases the solar yield. Overheating problems are a thing of the past, which facilitates process heat collection of up to 150°C. The common problems of the frost protection chemicals used in standard large-scale solar energy systems, such as corrosion, unstable ph values, outgassing, thermal disintegration, sedimentation, poor heat transfer, high viscosity and aging are completely absent.

The comprehensive function monitoring of the controller guarantees optimal operation, discovers and reports faults immediately and guarantees specific emergency running properties when faults occur - e.g. temperature sensor failure.

Applications for large-scale solar systems with Aqua Solar technology

The applications of the Aqua Solar technology at SGA go from solar expansion and partial solar heating right through to process heat. The areas of application are correspondingly varied, .e.g. apartment buildings, hotels, restaurants, spa facilities, residential areas, gyms, open air swimming pools, hospitals or office buildings; and for process heat, e.g. washing units, barn heating, breweries, food and drinks industry, paper, leather industry, catering kitchens or cleaning companies.
