Paradigma at a glance

At the company headquarters in Karlsbad, near Karlsruhe in Germany, 160 members of staff are employed in business operations, research and development, consulting, marketing, sales and logistics. They are supported by two subsidiaries: Ritter Solar and RNO Kesselfabrik in Dettenhausen, near Stuttgart, with a total of 160 employees.

Systematic Innovation

1988
Company founded by Alfred T. Ritter, joint owner of the “Ritter Sport” chocolate factory
The product range included gas condensing technology, which Paradigma pioneered in Germany,

solar technology, and efficiency-boosting system components such as digital controllers with dynamic pump controls, buffer tanks and stratified storage tanks.

1991
Range of digital system controllers expanded with integrated solar controllers and dynamic solar pump control for the first time.

1992
The new SOLAR flat plate collector sets standards: For the first time, the collector absorber is HF welded for better heat transfer between the fin and the copper pipe of the heat transfer medium.

1994
Entry into fresh water storage technology with UNISOL universal storage tank

1996
New Modula condensing gas generation, modulating with integrated control technology
New MES system control with modular structure
Introduction of the CPC evacuated tube collector

1997
DITO and OPTIMA fresh water storage tanks with patented stratified charging technology in a pressurised storage tank
SPEED solar piping makes it easier to connect collectors

1998
Paradigma Italy subsidiary founded
German consumer magazine Stiftung Warentest 3/98 prints the following evaluation of the Paradigma CPC/OPTIMA solar energy system: “Very good system with high efficiency and an innovative system concept”

1999
Second generation of the CPC evacuated tube collector with the CPC Star series

2000
Establishment of Ritter Solar in Dettenhausen for producing CPC evacuated tube collectors
Market introduction of Pelletti wood pellet boiler
Wins 2000 Design Award of the Industry Forum for the CPC Azzurro evacuated tube collector

2002
Establishment of RNO Kesselfabrik for producing wood pellet boilers

2004
Market introduction of the “Aqua” solar heating system The AquaSystem is still the only solar heating system today which operates entirely without frost protection agents and can be connected to existing heating systems without further modification.

2005
Market introduction of the ModuVario condensing gas heat station, the powerful compact unit with a stratified storage tank

2006
Paradigma receives the German Federal Award for outstanding innovative craftsmanship for its AquaSystem
Expansion of the production capacities at RNO Kesselfabrik to 16,000 wood pellet boilers each year
Delivery of the 1,000,000th evacuated tube in April
Delivery of the 10,000th AquaSystem in June

2007
With the ModuVarioAqua, Paradigma introduces a condensing gas solar heat station to the market which can also support heating in addition to solar water heating.
